CAN YOU HELP ME WITH MY SEARCH????

I am trying to learn who the parents of my great, great grandfather were and would appreciate any assistance one may offer.

My great, great grandfather, JAMES BARROWCLOUGH, was nationalized as a U.S. citizen September 29, 1874. According to the U.S. Circuit Court records, Boston, MA. recorded in Vol. 81. Page 42, 1874, James was born in Cheshire, England.

According to the ship’s Report and List of Passengers, obtained from the U. S. National Archives, James arrived in Boston, MA, July 6, 1869, aboard the S. S. Malta of Glasgow “where W. H. P. Haines is Master, burthen 1449 tons, bound from the Port of Liverpool in Queenstown (England) for Boston (MA)” at the age of 40. This would make his birth year 1829.

According to James’ gravestone he died February 14, 1884 at the age of 53 years and 10 months. This would make his birth date March or April 1930.

According to the British Census of 1861, James was 30 years old in 1861 when the census was taken and born in Hyde, Cheshire. This would make his birth year 1831.

Based on the information I have, as stated above, James was born somewhere between 1829 and 1831 in Hyde, Cheshire.

Again, my goal is to learn who the parents of my great, great grandfather, JAMES BARROWCLOUGH, were and where they came from. If anyone can assist me with my search, I would be most appreciative.

Sincerely,
Kevin D. Barrowclough
